I propose a new word: “GPT” meaning

1 pointsby dalyabout 2 years ago
the feeling of astonishment felt when one of these LLMs does something you didn't expect.
We can, of course, fight over how to pronounce it as a word (witness the GIF fights) but once these LLMs can create sound we can ask it.

As in, "I got [dgipt]." or "That model is quite the [dgiptster]."? (i.e., 'gyp' https://www.dictionary.com/browse/gyp)
Or is it more "I got [gee pee teed]." / "That model is quite the [gee pee tee-ster]."? (i.e., 'A(G)I that does unexpected things for which astonishment is felt')

It is proposed in a spirit similar to the German word shadenfraude or gestalt which, in English, require a whole phrase or sentence.
I use it as "Wow, I [dgipt]" ... meaning "Wow, I didn't expect that"
"I'm [dgipt]" ... meaning that's a surprising result.
