Ask HN: Engineers, would you do short term builds for equity?

2 pointsby sjohns21about 2 years ago
I see an imbalance is the market for cofounders, I see more demand for technical cofounders. I'm thinking about how to balance this market.
As a technical cofounder myself, I meet business/idea cofounders and think: -This person is smart, driven, and nice -I want to see this product succeed, and I could work with them BUT -I'm not that eager to get onto a 4 year vesting schedule with someone I just met
What could work for me is something more like: Short term build sprints for equity, Angel investing with engineering skills, This could be structured in the form of a SAFE, ie, you give them $10k in engineering credits.
Do you feel the same?
