It wouldn't surprise me if this got resolved the same way the conflict over sampling in music was resolved: the studios all made cross-licensing deals with each other and the musicians themselves got crumbs, if that.

Certain factions in Hollywood, SV, et al were more than happy to allow huge immigration numbers to replace lower paid American workers, even spending great sums of political donations to make it happen, and then call those poorer folks who complained xenophobic Nazis.<p>Now that a lower cost alternative to THEM is on the horizon they are facing the same existential dread they proudly inflicted on others. Wonder if this will open their eyes to what the rest of the country has faced.<p>Probably not.
