Ask HN: How big of a factor are languages for career building?

1 pointsby StefanWestfalabout 2 years ago
I use mainly Python and Typescript and played with Go, Rust, and C. However, when I need to solve a problem I always fallback to Python and/or Typescript as they are the ones I know best and the seemed to be used a lot. So, outside of ares like systems engineering, infrastructure, etc., to which extend does a career typically depend on the known programming languages?

I my country, often developer can not switch to another, more popular language. These developers can not pass interview, they are banned. Outsourcing companied do that to downgrade rates and make casta of people with languages on a hype.
