Author should have a look at <a href="https:&#x2F;&#x2F;github.com&#x2F;HackerNews&#x2F;API">https:&#x2F;&#x2F;github.com&#x2F;HackerNews&#x2F;API</a> instead of scraping HN<p>The HN API is linked to from every page on HN, at the bottom of the page in the footer. Look for the link named “API”.

twitter noob here but are you allowed to just make a bot account on it like he did with <a href="https:&#x2F;&#x2F;twitter.com&#x2F;eloonsAlt" rel="nofollow">https:&#x2F;&#x2F;twitter.com&#x2F;eloonsAlt</a><p>I thought you would have had to give them your unique email from a provider like google that requires unique phone number and maybe also give twitter your phone number to make your twitter account.<p>Also besides the idea of having two accounts, which I didn&#x27;t know you could do, I thought they were working hard to figure out which accounts were from bots, so they could ban them. They are OK with accounts that are just admittedly bot accounts?
