My (US middle/high school) history classes mostly talked about the free speech implications of the Sedition part.
I was far more interested in the "alien" part, thinking it was much more historically significant that we had UFO's landing on the lawn of the maybe-not-even-built-yet White House in the 1700's, and this was a feature of daily life that the point the government felt our interaction with extraterrestrials was a subject that needed regulation -- yet said history classes completely glossed over this as if it was totally unimportant, and establishing the fine legal details of exactly what is or isn't free speech was the bigger issue!
I was very disappointed when I found out the "alien" in the title apparently referred to human foreigners from Mexico, China, etc. and not little green critters from Mars or Alpha Centauri or wherever.
I guess I got trolled by John Adams.
