So I fell ass first into a modicum of success and I'm not sure how to take it to the next level.
First off, I'm an engineering founder, which means I only truly know how to solve problems with technology. Unfortunately I am now past that point in my journey and I need help from someone with the right skillset.
I am running a dead simple ai powered b2b tool to help founders validate their startups. I have been listed on dozens of ai product websites, people talk about it on twitter and linkedin, i'm doing about 600 uniques a day, 100 of them convert to giving me their business idea to validate, probably 10-20 per day buy a report. Sounds good, but I don't have the skills or expertise to bring it to the next level. My question is: what do I do now?
Do I hire a marketing firm? If so, what do I look for? Do I give a chunk of the company to someone to manage things like SEO and advertising? Is that even a viable option? Do I go hard on things like affiliates and referrals promotions? Do I try to find influencers and if so, how? Do I just sell the business to someone at a discount and let them handle it?
I'm not looking for an easy answer, I am just genuinely unsure how to proceed and I feel like I'm squandering a nice opportunity. Any input/experience is appreciated.
3 years ago I created some tech I wanted to sell as a SAAS business. After my engineer mind and nerd brain finally accepted that I am not good at doing everything myself I found myself a business partner. Several months I reached out to people I found interesting with the question if they knew someone with experience in the field and a commercial business brain. After many talks and some personality tests we made a deal.
He paid 10k, I gave him 50% stocks. He is CEO, I am CTO.
We now have developers, marketing people and many happy customers. I started the rocket but never was able to fuel it like my business partner does. 10k for 50% is perfect if it saves your life.
