Render to start billing free accounts without any opt in

2 pointsby greatjack613about 2 years ago
I got this email from Render which states that my account which was on their free tier is now going to start getting billed without any opt in.
See email text below.
Hi there,
We're letting you know about upcoming changes to your Render bill. As mentioned in our December 2022 pricing announcement over email, single-user teams created before January 2023 received a 6-month grace period during which they did not have to pay $19 per user per month.
This grace period ends on June 30, 2023. Starting July 1, active Render teams will be charged $19 per user per month in addition to compute costs.
The Team plan offers access to advanced features like autoscaling, preview environments, and PostgreSQL point-in-time recovery. Developers on the Team plan also receive 500 GB of free bandwidth and access to email and chat support.
Your team <REDACTED> Team contains services and will be charged $19 per user per month starting July 2023.
If you wish to continue running your services on your team, no action is needed.
However, if you do not need the additional features in the Team plan, you can recreate your services in your individual account before June 30, 2023 and avoid the monthly fee by deleting your team. As a reminder, teams that do not have any services (active or suspended) for the entire month will not be charged a per-user fee.
We're here to help. Please reply to this email if you'd like assistance or have questions.
Best,
The Render Team
