Ask HN: Better solution than a control panel (Plesk,cPanel) in 2023?

1 pointsby fbn79almost 2 years ago
Our company has a big VPS with many websites (around 50) in hosting (many PHP versions) and one MySQL instance used by all. All are managed with a Plesk panel. Developers (with low Linux management experience) use the Plesk panel to create new hostings, enable TLS, and manage databases. Now the server is getting obsolete and we are planning to migrate all to a new solution. I'm wondering if Plesk (or cPanel or similar) is still a good solution or which alternative can be good for our use case. I'm thinking about something based on Docker, like Portainer+Traefik for example. Do you think could be a good solution for a multi-domain server where low-skill people need to activate and manage new website hostings? Or is Plesk/cPanel still a good solution in 2023?
