Martin Gardner wrote a monthly column in Scientific American called Mathematical Games. He introduced me and other readers to: Conway's Game of Life, fractals, Penrose Tiles, flexagons, M. C. Escher, Godel, Escher, Bach, polyoninoes and many other logic problems.
