This submission was inspired by a current HN submission (One man's 8bit quest to finish his teenage Commodore64 RPG[1]), but this NYT article delves more deeply into the near-singular creative obsession that can take over a person's life - something that I find both fascinating and inspiring, and yet at the same time daunting and, potentially, futile[2].
[1] - https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=36283003
[2] - Because I, too, suffer from this syndrome. I've been creating, on-and-off, my own Constructed World for coming up to 50 years. Yet I've not yet found a way to share it with the world in a way that satisfies me.
