I woudl say this is close to, if not completely, a fraudulent product announcement.<p>The literal state of the art here- announced by IBM a few days ago- is an actual, likely verifiable quantum advantage for a kind of simulation- Ising models- but it doesn't resolve any scientific problems.<p>There are several areas of woo now:
Quantum woo, genomics woo, and AI woo.<p>All three fields have exciting results, but the press around them claims things which aren't true and which have no clear path to becoming usable products for decades. Eventually, peopel stop believing in a field, if you woo it too much.
