I am a senior technologist (mid 40s), and have already served as a CTO on two startups. Pretty much entirely self-taught, I feel I am good/great on the technology side of things (based on feedback), but feel I am nowhere as good on Strategy and being a high-impact member of the C-suite.
I came across these[1][2][3][4] online certificate programs offered by a bunch of business school, including highly-ranked ones like Haas and Wharton.
1. Has anyone gone thru these programs?
2. Are then worth pursuing, generally, as well specifically related to the weakness I mentioned above?
3. The programs are quite expensive: ~20K USD for Wharton, and ~30K USD for Haas. Are they worth that much money?
4. I understand a major part of an MBA/B-school program is the networking. How much opportunity do you think there is to network (within your batch, as well as with program alumni, or general alumni). Does it work as a value add?
5. As a technologist who is going to mainly be interested in startups, which program sounds preferable? Haas or Wharton? Which goes better on a resume, or is more attractive to a VC? They are both highly regarded and I am having a hard time picking one over the other.
6. Finally: Anyone interested in joining the same cohort? It would be terrific to have a small group of us from HN being in the same class. :-)
Any other comments/inputs/suggestions/advice?
Direct links to programs:
1. https://online-execed.wharton.upenn.edu/chief-technology-officer-program
2. https://em-executive.berkeley.edu/chief-technology-officer
Referral Links (same as above but with ref code - you and I both get a discount on fee if we both signup and pay.)
3.
