Tesla quotes customer $12K after installing refurbished battery

https://twitter.com/kvartovertolv/status/1673434033357742082
Twitter rant is in Swedish, but here is the gist:
1. Customer bought a brand new Tesla Model S (presumably the P85) about 10 years ago
2. Just as battery warranty is about to expire (8 years after purchase), customer experiences reduced charging speeds
3. Tesla approves repair under warranty, replacement is a refurbished battery
4. 15 months later, refurbished battery stops taking charge at all, car is effectively bricked
5. All warranties now expired, Tesla quotes customer SEK 127k for replacement (unclear if new or refurbished)
If the replacement battery would also be refurbished then Tesla is quoting the customer 127k for a repair that might only give the car a few years of additional life. This is an impossible to justify investment in a car that is already a decade old. ICE cars do throw clutches, gearboxes or engines at that age and replacements can be costly, but they generally last another decade. If, on the other hand, the 127k replacement is for a new battery then it's not too far from the ICE scenario, as the battery is pretty much the only thing the car will need to run another 8-10 years. However the customer experience is still terrible.
