Seems like the right call to me. I really know almost nothing about this case, but seems like gofundme isn't doing something illegal and the officer hasn't been convicted. Are folks presumed innocent in France? Even if he is convicted, does that blacklist his children as being unworthy of support?
I don’t understand the controversy of raising money even if the charged crime is a capital offense.<p>Nobody even knows all of the facts yet other what is being reported by the media, which is not the arbiter of truth.
A lot of the (manufactured?) outrage about this situation isn't so much that a gofundme exists for the cop's family, it's that the victim's family's own fund received less than $250k donations versus the cop's $1.5M.
