Thucydides' Trap is
> an apparent tendency towards war when an emerging power threatens to displace an existing great power as a regional or international hegemon
> based on a quotation of ancient Athenian historian and military general Thucydides, in which he posited that the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta had been inevitable because of Spartan fears of the growth of Athenian power
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thucydides_Trap
As well, the Criticism section from the same page:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thucydides_Trap#Criticism

NOPE. Two to three years max before the SHF. If we manage to get past the next 3 years, the danger will have passed because the US will recognise that it's too late to succeed.
It's very likely too late now but the US is not yet ready to recognise that fact.
