Hi all,
Author here. My favorite learning last week was how to increase page views to my site, which as a developer, I've struggled with soo much.
Here’s my strategy:
- Live in the comments sections of creators. Twitter, Threads, TikTok, Youtube. Aim to Educate → Inspire → Entertain their audience.
- Always have your email subscription box in your profile bio. Use these marketplaces to collect emails.
- I’m lucky because I have a unique name, so this also gets people to type my name into google, which goes straight to my website.
- Post great content online to forums like HackerNews and Reddit.
- (not in the article) Timeliness. Post things that are relevant today. This article breaks that rule bc "creator economy" is unpopular at the moment - https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=pastMonth&page=0&prefix=fa.... That being said, I can't help what I'm passionate about. A better topic would be "llm" - https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=pastMonth&page=0&prefix=tr...
- (not in the article) Go to the growing platforms. There's a few charts in the link that show growth rates of social platforms. TikTok, Linkedin, Reddit, are all growing platforms that don't have build in public bloggers yet. My numbers show it too. My best performing platform is TikTok and I spend the least amount of time on that content.
And it worked! At my current rate of growth I'll be at 5k+ page views at the end of the month. That's 10x more than last month!
