Google Messages signs onto cross-platform encrypted group chat standard

Excuse my ignorance, but is this actually implemented anywhere else? I could find that maybe WhatsApp uses it, and that Signal has their own version of it.<p>This doesn&#x27;t seem very wide spread if thats the case.
