I’d rather not have the new features and keep the price the same. Podcasts have been the worst thing introduced on the platform. The app redesign misses the mark in key ways, and it seems like someone is employed at Spotify solely to change the like and add to playlist buttons every other month.
I'm not a big fan of Spotify but they have the largest collection of curated high-quality music others can't provide. Combined with the easy last.fm scrobbling, I've decided to keep it despite the increased price. Though their UX kinda sucks and lot of individual songs or even albums go randomly missing, which is annoying.
Youtube has practically everything but old uploads are sometimes so bad you can hear the compression and noise. And the rest of the streaming services don't have as much music, which means more downloading, tagging, organizing and storage needed for me.
I cancelled my subscription. I listen to Spotify all the time and think it's great... but it keeps getting worse. For example, it used to suggest tracks to add to a playlist, now it has replaced that feature with an 'enhance' button that forces their choices on your playlist.
And I'm done with optional arbitrary price increases.
I think Spotify should be careful, there are other alternatives, and maybe we’ll see a price war soon. Spotify is not solving music in a differentiated way anymore. Some might say that their algorithms are the best, but I find the app Mixonset much better. I miss Rdio.
