Ask HN: Has anyone used ChatGPT for interviewing?

5 pointsby phernandezalmost 2 years ago
I've been wondering, specifically for leetcode type questions, has anyone used ChatGPT during the interview to help solve the problem? If you did, did you disclose this with the interviewer?

Generally if I get an LC type question in an interview it immediately plummets my interest in that company, so it doesn't really matter if I get the answer right or not.

I think it should be the same policy as in college exams: you specify upfront whether the person taking an exam allowed to use books, notes, calculators, StackOverflow, ChatGPT, etc.

I found it helpful to prepare myself for answering questions about how I solve a problem, situations where x y and z happened, etc, particularly just being on the spot for a question I never heard before and practicing fluency in my response.

For leetcode, no but I will in the future! And no, I won’t tell my interviewer.
