Ask HN: What are the disruptive uses of a room-temp superconductor?

1 pointsby xgbialmost 2 years ago
Okay guys, I'm reading all over HN that there might be a sound candidate for room temperature superconductor.
I'm already imagining an infinite battery, ultra powerful motors, DC power gaining the electricity game, electricity generation & transport disruption with smaller wires & "infinite" range, WAY smaller MRI machines..
I can't even begin to imagine what it would mean in the EM/RF field.
What do you think it would enable in the next 5 years?

Infinit battery is utopia:)
Even when superconductor is built in, it's still the chemistry that defines the speed. Don't confuse it with supercapacitor.
Also, the wires.. at first it needs to be known if the superconductor is wire-able. If it can't be formed to a wire. Then no use as a wire.
But where ever a strong magnetic field is needed, there the superconductor will be found in use
