Bloomberg running a story against US patent laws: that's unexpected. Normally, value in IPR is what capital friendly news outlets trumpet. Here's a turn up for the books!

Patents were supposed to foster innovation but over time it just hasn&#x27;t worked that way.<p>I think, though, that a lot of these issues are failures that show us the flaws on our political systems. There&#x27;s so many of these &quot;things are wrong and we know why but nothing is done to fix them&quot; problems that it ends up being really frustrating. We know there&#x27;s a problem, we know why the problem exists, and we know ways of relieving the issue. So what&#x27;s next?<p>The USA is one of the countries that benefits the most from imposing its intellectual property on other countries, pretty much every trade agreement with the USA has an extensive and restrictive section on patents. So what happens internally, also happens at a higher level.<p>It is what it is though. I struggle to see an exit to the problems that afflict the USA, the political will is just not there, not really. I mean it&#x27;s good that Biden is doing <i>something</i>.
