This request has been posted two months and all I can do is pile on another request within the comment section for Dark Mode.<p>I don't want to install a js or pay for it and just use my Safari browser. It can't be that hard for HW to add that simple feature.<p>Saves a lot of energy and better for the eyes.
Let's make it happen.
I'm not sure what you mean <i>exactly</i> by "I don't want to install a js"?<p>Does this mean you don't want to run JavaScript at all? Ever? That's a pretty tall order in today's world. I can understand having JavaScript disabled by default. But that said, JavaScript can be useful for what you want.<p>I know this because I empathize greatly (except I prefer light mode). in a previous thread, I immediately created the appropriate bookmark-let so that my eyes wouldn't go crazy trying to read dark-mode pages.<p>Maybe it can serve as a solution for you too if you're willing to compromise a bit.

There are no features you should pay for on HN.<p>---<p>Adding on to the discussion, I don't mind light mode in websites. HN is like a mid-2000's throwback website, there wasn't dark mode back then, but it's 2023, and people are used to dark mode. Why not give them what they want?
