Pioneering wind-powered cargo ship sets sail

A cool cargo ship with big sails is hitting the seas! Cargill, the shipping company, chartered this vessel hoping to make shipping greener. The ship has awesome British-designed WindWings sails that cut fuel use and carbon emissions. When it's in port, the sails fold down, but when it's sailing, they open up, standing tall at 123 feet (37.5 meters). This maiden voyage from China to Brazil will test if old-school wind power can be the future of shipping. If it works, ships could emit 30% less CO2.
