79-82 Carnival. Was in the university library coffeeshop. It was polite to shoot the music offline. Space Invaders were everywhere in Pubs, we had a few Galaga/Galaxian, and missile command in the university halls of residence. My memory is that the trackball on missile command was bigger than you can buy now, more rolls to move the cursor. Asteroids was still vector graphics as was the tank simulator.<p>Pong was actually good fun. I used a very crude tank game on a PDP-7 connected Oscilloscope with a home made button control and light pens in the late 60s. Pong broke the market open, people need something to do between darts and pool.
That's gonna be a long, long list. I'll pick a few of my earliest that I still remember: Ernie's Big Splash, Oregon Trail, and Alleycat.
