Great article.<p>It seems like the classic music industry is in many ways like the VC model. Fund&#x2F;invest in many startup bands, with the goal that one in a hundred get huge and return massive profits.<p>The end of the article talks about Bandcamp as an alternative, which is in some ways analogous to YC.<p>Is this an acknowledged similarity across industries? Are there other industries that have a similar model?

My lord, that was dumb. Another of those, &quot;If you&#x27;re so radical, how come you live in a capitalist country?&quot; type of hit pieces. It&#x27;s shocking that there are so many libertarians on HN. You&#x27;d think tech workers would be smarter than that, but no. Maybe their salaries depend on them not getting it. Baffling.
