Great article.<p>It seems like the classic music industry is in many ways like the VC model. Fund/invest in many startup bands, with the goal that one in a hundred get huge and return massive profits.<p>The end of the article talks about Bandcamp as an alternative, which is in some ways analogous to YC.<p>Is this an acknowledged similarity across industries? Are there other industries that have a similar model?
My lord, that was dumb. Another of those, "If you're so radical, how come you live in a capitalist country?" type of hit pieces. It's shocking that there are so many libertarians on HN. You'd think tech workers would be smarter than that, but no. Maybe their salaries depend on them not getting it. Baffling.
