My favorite part of the article is where the author describes cosmic inflation as this quick fix for a "paradox from a previous big bang" that also introduced the multiverse - which is essentially unverifiable and then goes on to say something like "there's nothing inherently fishy about the standard model"<p>The standard model is holding everything back - clearly it's fundamentally flawed and that's been obvious for awhile, yet they keep trying to make it work.<p>I think fear rather than science is the main reason this is still a thing - they don't know how to think outside the model, abandoning it for the unknown is too scary.<p>Just let it go - see what's out there.
