Ask HN: What high quality paid (non-subscription) software would you recommend?

2 pointsby Fede_Vover 1 year ago
More and more software is moving into a subscription model. I'm looking for high quality suggestions for software that you can buy and fully own without having to keep paying for a license/subscription. I'm fine with software where you eventually have to pay for a new version - if the new version has genuinely compelling features and the old version continues to work.
Good examples that I personally paid for and keep using: - Sublime Text - GoodNotes (iOS app) - Pycharm (sort of qualifies) - Strongbox (offers a lifetime license)
Anything else that people really enjoy and they feel like they got their money's worth?

I use Royal TS/X [1] nearly every day and enjoy it very much. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, just a happy customer.
[1] https://royalapps.com/ts/mac/features
