Show HN: Pendable – email sending made easy with Amazon SES

2 pointsby jaspal747over 1 year ago
Hi HN,
Today we are launching Pendable.io. Me and my co-founder Chris have been working on this idea as a side project from the past year.
In a nutshell Pendable is a wrapper service around Amazon SES that provides all the necessary features like Logs, Priority based Email sending, Scheduled Future Delivery, open and click tracking, spam domain filtering and more.
Over the years we have used and loved SES but always felt that it needed a lot of work to set up and be production ready. It takes a lot of time and resources to set it up with options to capture hard-bounces and complaints and add those to do-not-send lists or prioritize critical emails (password resets, etc.) over lower priority emails (welcome email or newsletter) or schedule emails in the future (beyond the 15-minute time limit provided by SES) or capture open and click rate. We felt there is scope to add these features on top of SES and provide a production-ready system out of the box - thus Pendable was born.
You configure your SES account details in Pendable and then route all your emails via Pendable. All your emails are sent via your SES account but are routed through Pendable. With this routing we are able to provide you features like Dynamic Email Priorities, Open and Click Event Tracking, Continuous Bounce and Complaint rate management, and more.
We would greatly appreciate your feedback.
Website: https://pendable.io/
Docs: https://pendable.io/docs

Looks nice but the pricing eliminates the value proposition that promotes SES.
In other words, comparable mail sending services are available and this essentially replaces the SES front end so the fact that SES is used behind the scenes becomes kinda irrelevant from both a cost and operational viewpoint.
