We all need something to do given we do not have a purpose in this world, except for bearing children maybe. People love to philosophise about the meaning of life and find all ways to be sad. There isn't - keep yourselves busy, anything!

What if you have ADHD and your doctor insists that you "focus on emotional symptoms first"? However, the condition makes it very hard to do anything, which can lead to a spiral of shame and depression.
Is it depression not to want to do something you will definitely fail at, due to disability. I don't think this is easy of anyone to answer. What if you're always procrastinating, then coming to the realization that you failed?

Depression, the unwanted red pill experience of feeling what it is really like to be without self-deception. Don't think about it, just function.
