I've been using Thunderbird for years but wonder if there is a better option.

On windows I use thebat, not sure it's the best, force of habit :-)

I like Pegasus Mail. I strongly prefer obvious buttons for things I want to do over software that hides things to make the UI look "pretty".

Even when my predominant os was windows, i didn't found any replacement of thunderbird(it was before firefox made the quantum update)
