Lost me immediately out of the gate. No alfresco, picnics, or barbecues?
Sorry, this is going over the line of fearing death so much you don't live in the first place.

I'm a microbiologist too and yeah, nah. I do all of these and yet the vast majority of the time I've been ill has been from restaurant prepared food. And am I about to stop eating out? No. Utter rubbish and scaremongering.

Is this satire?
Next week: "Why I never cross the road, and 20 other things to avoid if you're terrified of actually living"

This is really fearful and well off the beaten path. At the very least, what about exposure to some level of germs being good for the development of the immune system?

reminds me of the time in student residence where we were wolfing down a piece of ham, when someone turned it and it was green on the other side. no casualties, not even food poisoning. nothing a couple of bottles of wine could not cure.

How likely is the rice contamination? I've been reheating rice all my life and never got food poisoning from it.
