I've been a fan of Julia Evans, for what seems like ages, because of all her blog posts.
This is the first time I'm seeing a video of hers and I feel I've become an even bigger fan now!
What an amazing, incredible, human being! I don't think I've ever listened to a technical talk and smiled all the way through it!
Thank you, Julia, for reminding that this feeling of joy is one of the main reasons a lot of us are here.
And thank you, Slackwise, for posting this and sharing that joy on HN.
While writing this comment, I was also reminded about one of the main reasons of Matz's for inventing Ruby!
My heartburn about "share what tools you're using to reduce cognitive load" <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30YWsGDr8mA&t=560> is that in my experience being a tool evangelist is exceptionally hard over the Internet because tooling seems to be a very, very personal thing and suggestions to just try a different tool are met with resistance
I would guess that trick may be contextually dependent upon "when asked for help ... THEN share ..."
