I was astonished when DHH just merged the PR removing Typescript, without even considering comments or feedback from the community.<p>Nicholas is right that open source maintainers owe us nothing. They have their own objectives. And if they decide to do something, like removing Typescript, it’s up to them.<p>But open source is also about building a community around your software. For small and large projects. DHH and Nicholas are kind of missing this part. You can’t expect users to trust you and continue using your software, if all of a sudden, you change just about everything.
