It's a way to inform customers about their environmental impact, and to let them factor this information into their decision-making. A similar kind of transparency doesn't yet exist for the computing industry, despite its carbon emissions exceeding those of the entire airline industry."

Why don't large tech companies invest in modular nuclear reactors? It's an obvious solution to their energy consumption problems. Solar would work as well but it doesn't have the required energy density for powering their compute centers.
