311 is NYC's consolidated line for non-emergency local government services. They'll forward complaints to the correct department, everything from missed trash pickup to apartments without heat or hot water. I was browsing through their data and was surprised to discover that more than a quarter of all complaints -- hundreds of thousands per year -- are noise related. I built NoisyNYC on top of the noise-related data.<p>No plans for commercialization, this is a small side project.
