The actual situation is far more interesting than the headline - the &quot;endorsed&quot; article is from The Onion, the editor is Jewish and a very long-term critic of the scientific establishment, and more. He ran for the US Senate in 2018.<p>If he was a normal (boring, careerist) editor, I might comment about third rails, and the idiocy of venturing near them. Given the article&#x27;s backstory on Michael Eisen...I doubt that applies here. It sounds like he made a calculate public stand, and the outcome isn&#x27;t particularly damaging to him.

I wish someone did a rigorous study on the actions of the media and politicians during this conflict. It&#x27;s been stunning to see how quickly the narrative consolidated and unified to approve of Israel&#x27;s actions against the Palestinian civilians.<p>Reddit is particularly terrible in this regards, at least the world news live thread. It&#x27;s almost like it&#x27;s under some state-actor online operation.

I think I prefer the confidence of Americans when they decide to steam roll over a country. The Israelis crying victim while doing it is rather pathetic.
