Electric vehicles can help communities bounce back after a disaster (2019)

I am unconvinced. I could fill the gas tanks of my cars before an impending event such as a hurricane, and if a disaster cuts the power grid, I think it's easier to transport gasoline to the affected area than to quickly restore the grid.
