Madelon Hulsebos on Tabular Machine Learning

4 pointsby CShortenover 1 year ago
Hey everyone! I am SUPER excited to publish our 72nd Weaviate Podcast with Madelon Hulsebos from the University of Amsterdam!!
Madelon is one of the world's experts on Machine Learning with Tables, also commonly referred to as Tabular Structured Data!
You have probably heard that most of the world's data is contained in tables! This describes representing each individual data object as a row that contains a mix of features (columns in the table). These are commonly use to describe customers, product inventory, patients, and many more!
Madelon's research explores cutting-edge future directions for applying Machine Learning to Tabular Structured Data! We discussed the latest in embeddings to search across multiple tables, as well as within tables, new directions for Table-Based Question Answering and the nuances beyond Text-to-SQL, we also discussed her amazing work on Semantic Type Detection, collecting 1.7 million tables extracted from CSV files on GitHub in GitTables, and many more!
This was one of the most eye-opening podcasts for me, I gained such a better understanding of these topics from speaking with Madelon! I hope you enjoy the podcast, as always I am more than happy to answer any questions or discuss any ideas you have about the content in the podcast!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMqxJpC4-Co
