They lost primary power, then their backup power systems failed. They should have designed for HA across two availability zones... or at least periodically tested their backup power systems. Somebody has some tough questions to answer.
Once again i am reminded that in spite of all the claims that cloud providers are stable, redundant, and 99.99999 - my decision for on-prem servers has and continues to be the right call.<p>The list of events with major providers experiencing failed services just keeps getting longer.<p>I would brag on my hardware if it didn't make this comment a commercial.<p>However, I would enjoy hearing what you hardware geeks out there are running though...
