In the past, I've come across companies that focus on recruiting exceptional individuals without predetermined positions in mind.<p>Is this still happening? Are there any notable companies that have adopted this approach in the past few months?

Build a reputation for yourself at conferences, etc. and companies will be hiring <i>you</i>, not a role.
