Really interesting concept but I see a number of issues and limitations not addressed in the review.<p>For one, I think a lack of segmentation isn't great. Following people isn't just for quality content, it's for certain kinds of content. That's part of what makes a platform like TikTok so engaging: it finds content in the niches you're interested in for you. No need to look for them and follow the right creators. If everything is shared in one feed, niche content is less likely to be given to and seen.<p>Also, creators in this format are discouraged from giving their points, as their feed post will rank down quicker.<p>I do like the sentiment though. I really wish a simple, open source Twitter like social network was popular. It was a convenient way to see official communication from organizations and significant individuals, and to see news happen basically live, but the platform is inherently flawed. I wonder if a paid social network could ever take off. I would be happy to give a few bucks a month to a Twitter like app if it had a substantial enough network, but that's a bit of a catch 22.
