Ask HN: Is getting a coding job next to impossible?

8 pointsby marioptover 1 year ago
In my last role, I was working on a crypto company that was defunded by investors and naturally, I was back to the job market.<p>Over the last 4 months, I have been applying to hundreds of roles but it just seems impossible to get any job right now. I have 12 years of professional experience and my CV is far from being bad.<p>I keep seeing job reposts with over 500 applicants (CV farming I reckon), a clear tendency to reduce salary in roles that involve javascript, recruiters ghosting mid-process, job posts that are oddly specific in search of a unicorn, etc.<p>For those seeking a job, how has your experience been so far?
