Safari Hack: Setting Your Google Meet Background

2 pointsby jnathsfover 1 year ago
For those of you who love Safari but switch to Chrome for Google Meet&#x27;s background selection feature, here&#x27;s an easy fix. You can make Safari impersonate Google Chrome by altering its user agent. Just go to the &#x27;Develop&#x27; option in the menu, select &#x27;User Agent&#x27;, and then opt for &#x27;Google Chrome&#x27;.<p>I&#x27;ll let the readers speculate on why Google does this.

I used ChatGPT to help me build an Electron wrapper for Google Meet to avoid using Chrome. Another problem it solves is that it only uses my work account, whereas a browser would always switch to my personal account just because it’s first in the list.
