Ask HN: Why is mobile web lagging behind?

1 pointsby harshitjain007over 1 year ago
In today&#x27;s world, with mobile devices getting ever more powerful, why hasn&#x27;t mobile web been able to out compete native app experience? If mobile web becomes sufficient, then a lot of good things happen automatically- 1) No need of app stores 2) No monopolies of any big tech company 3) No digital payment commissions 4) Lots of free storage on your phone<p>On desktop, web experience is at par with native apps, so why not on mobile?

It’s harder to track and monetize people visiting your site through a free browser. Go direct to consumer and sell them an app, or take their data and sell it to the highest bidder.
