Ask HN: Is there a reason Google does not like my domain?

4 pointsby 4kimovover 1 year ago
If I google "fossfox", it's usually result number 20-30. The first few results are links/pages about the actual dot com, mixed with links/pages of what I'm guessing was the previous owner's product.
On Bing/Yahoo/Duck, it's result #1.
Search Console does not reveal any problems. Has anybody encountered this?

Being a conspiratorial nutjob i think you shouldnt rule out that there is quite a lot of filtering happening to get you into the search results in the first place.
See https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2021/08/dead-...
Since there is only 40 or so pages for any given result, you might be lucky to make it at all. From your IP that is.
Please just take this as a far out option for the spectrum of possible answers to your question.
