It's been a while since Reddit changed the API policy. So, which Android app are you using (if you're using Reddit at all)? For me, 'Boost for Reddit' worked best. Since then, no free or paid app has matched its user experience.
Relay for Reddit is one of the only survivors (on Android) and is fantastic. The dev bent over backwards to keep it going during all of the turmoil. It's subscription-based now, but really cheap and easy to change levels.
The app also clearly hows how many API calls you're using, daily averages and such.
I think I would have left Reddit completely if I'd been forced to use their app.
lemmy has pretty much fixed "reddit" for me.
most of reddit's posts get mirrored on lemmy so the community interacts on lemmy outside of reddit so you get lesser noise.
