The catch is that the iPhone must first be jailbroken, and it must be kept plugged into power, at home, and connected to Wi-Fi for periodic registration re-requests.<p>It feels kiiiiiiinda negligent to not mention that the "free Beeper tool" is an Open Source AGPL app you can audit and build yourself. It doesn't <i>shock</i> me that they left that part out, but given the passionate title you'd expect a less subtle examination of what the app actually is.
