The author differentiates between knowledge that is lasting (non-perishable) and knowledge that is trivial or temporary (perishable). He uses this distinction to explain his preference for enduring technologies or philosophies like UNIX or Vim.<p>I personally agree with his point. And this is how I also approach learning new things.
