My first Amazon order was a camera case in September 2002. I have no memory of this layout.<p>It’s interesting they partnered with Target and Toys R Us to round out the store. Too bad they don’t still do that (parter with legitimate retailers to run their online presence) and instead have shady 3rd party sellers pushing junk with AI generated titles and descriptions.
I'm impressed there's still some things in common between 2002 Amazon and 2024 Amazon. Obviously the whole structure of the site has changed, but the colors still seem relatively similar, as does the sort of "cluttered but still organized" look.
